It's been a looong time...I know. Let's say I wasn't motivated enough.
There's this photographer I once read about who takes pictures of people who recently passed away and you couldn't really tell if they were just sleeping or if they were actually dead. It was sort of intriguing. So I thought it would be interesting to take all these fairytale characters and draw them in the same way, and also making reference to what Hamlet once said about death. The series consists of 4 drawings: The little mermaid, Snow White, Little red riding hood and Rapunzel. They are all finished and will upload them eventually . Sorry if the quality doesn't look good, i took the picture with my cell phone. I'll submit another version soon. Original size: 11"x15" Watercolor pencils, ink and ink wash and a bit of acrylic paint on watercolor paper. |
